Nowave Studio features three main studio rooms – the Control Room, Studio A and Studio B – located inside an old 1000 sqm banana ripening factory in Mullumbimby, designed and built by owner (Engineer/Producer & Musician) Julian Abbott. With a clear aim on making musicians feel at ease, the recording studio decor and vibe allows artists to focus on achieving their creative processes. Control Room
The Control Room is 5 x 6 meters with ceiling height of 2.7 meters, designed with unparalleled angled walls and acoustically built to achieve perfect sounding mixes and recordings. Houses the ex 1979 David Bowie Console and features custom hand-built Harris Audio speakers and Amplifier made for Nowave.
Studio A
Studio A is the largest room at 8 x 6.6 meters with ceiling height of 4 meters. Angled walls cladded with a combination of tone timbers including various recycled hardwoods from the property, custom slotted hoop pine plywood panels. Also featuring 2 large 3 x 3 meter hinged separation walls creating an infinite number of different angled spaces within the room. 24 xlr microphone lines direct to console with 8 returns for headphone sends. Additional 8 xlr microphone lines + 4 instrument sends piggy backing to and from Studio B.
Studio B
Studio B is 6.6 x 6.6 meters with ceiling height of 4 meters. It’s a room within a room design with extensive acoustic treatment, created one piece at a time and tested to ensure the acoustic performance was complementary. Addition 8 xlr microphone lines + 4 instrument sends piggy backing to and from Studio A. Studio B makes the perfect DIY workshop recording room or rehearsal space for bands on a budget.
